Built for Ile-de-France

What Paris projects need us to get right.

The local rules and realities we design for from the first call.

01

GDPR and CNIL expectations in the build

Paris projects sit under the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the French Data Protection Act, which the CNIL enforces. We keep data collection narrow, make consent and cookie choices real rather than decorative, and record what is stored where for your legal review.

GDPR · CNIL · Cookie consent

02

WCAG 2.2 AA, and RGAA for public sector work

WCAG 2.2 AA is the working standard behind the European Accessibility Act, which has applied to many consumer digital services since June 2025. French public sector work follows RGAA, so we structure components and documentation to suit whichever one applies to you.

RGAA · WCAG 2.2 AA · Accessibility

03

French first, English where it earns its place

Interfaces, transactional email and support content are written in French for a French audience, with English kept for international business. We plan for longer French strings in buttons and navigation instead of letting translated text break the layout.

04

European hosting with a documented data map

Applications, databases and backups can run in European Union regions, including French ones, and we keep logs and analytics in the same place. You get a written map of every service touching personal data, so nothing is a surprise during a review.

Sectors

Who we work with in Paris.

Luxury and retail

Luxury retail expects restraint and precision on screen: typography that holds, imagery that loads fast, checkout that never stumbles. We build storefronts and companion apps that look considered and still pass performance and accessibility checks.

Financial services

Finance teams in Paris need careful access control, audit trails and interfaces that make complicated numbers legible. We build web applications around your existing systems and keep security decisions written down rather than assumed.

Aerospace

Aerospace suppliers and engineering groups run on documents, part data and long approval chains. We build internal web tools that surface the right record quickly, integrate with existing systems, and stay usable on a shop floor terminal.

Media and advertising

Publishers and agencies need publishing tools that editors enjoy and pages that load quickly under traffic spikes. We build the platform, then use analytics, CRO and paid channels to grow the audience it was built for.

Process

Working with OlDevs from Paris.

  1. Discover

One call at the end of your Paris day sets goals, audiences and constraints. We audit what exists, ask blunt questions about the systems behind it, and write the plan before anyone opens an editor.

  2. Design

You review interface work as prototypes rather than static images, in French where the audience is French. Feedback is collected asynchronously so nobody waits nine hours for an answer.

  3. Build

Engineering runs in weekly cycles, each ending with a demo you can click through yourself. Priorities can shift between cycles, which keeps the plan honest as you learn from real screens.

  4. Launch

Release day is planned in Paris time. We migrate content, verify accessibility and performance, connect analytics and search, then watch the first hours of traffic and leave a written check waiting for your next morning.

  5. Grow

We keep working after launch on SEO and content, paid search, paid social, email and CRO, reporting in plain language. The code, designs and accounts belong to you throughout.

FAQ

Paris — questions we hear first.

There is not. OlDevs works from a single studio in Vancouver, British Columbia, founded in 2014, and Paris clients are served remotely. That means video calls scheduled in your time zone, written updates between them, and travel to Paris when a workshop, a launch or a stakeholder session is better done in person.

We treat the overlap as precious and everything else as asynchronous. Calls are booked late in your afternoon, which is early morning here. Between calls you get demo links, short recorded walkthroughs and a shared board you can read at eight in the morning Paris time. Enquiries are answered within one business day.

Yes. We can deploy to European Union regions, including French ones, and keep databases, file storage, backups and logs in the same region. Third party services are chosen with residency in mind and listed in a written data map, so your privacy team can check the setup against your own policies.

We have bilingual English and French capability, so French interface copy, transactional email and documentation are within scope. For large volumes of editorial or highly specialised legal wording we work alongside your writers or a translation partner, and keep the review inside the same project space.

WCAG 2.2 AA by default. It is the working standard behind the European Accessibility Act that has applied to many consumer digital services since June 2025, and it sits close to RGAA for French public sector projects. We build and test to it, and leave any judgement about your legal obligations to your counsel.

Within the first cycle. Our habit is a working demo every week, so instead of waiting months for a reveal you get something clickable early and keep steering it. Tell us what you want to build and we reply within one business day, then you request a quote once the scope is clear.
