Barcelona, in short

Yes.OlDevs works with Barcelona businesses remotely from our Vancouver studio, with travel when a piece of work genuinely calls for it, and because Barcelona runs nine hours ahead of Vancouver we book calls in your late afternoon, which is our morning. The work covers web app development, Android and iOS apps, web development, full-stack builds, AI development and performance marketing.

Built for Catalonia

What Barcelona projects need us to get right.

The local rules and realities we design for from the first call.

01

GDPR shapes the data model, not a checkbox

Work for Barcelona falls under the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the Spanish data protection law, LOPDGDD. We map every field a form collects, keep consent and deletion paths working, and document the lot. We build to the rules; your counsel confirms them.

02

WCAG 2.2 AA built in, not bolted on

The European Accessibility Act has applied to many consumer digital services since June 2025, and WCAG 2.2 AA is the working standard. We check keyboard paths, colour contrast and screen reader labels as each screen is built, rather than in a scramble before launch.

03

Spanish, Catalan and English side by side

Barcelona audiences read Spanish and Catalan, and international business runs in English. We plan the content model for three locales from day one: language switching, hreflang, translated forms and error messages, and layouts that survive longer strings.

04

Hosting and data residency inside the EU

Your site, databases, backups and logs can sit in European Union regions, and we write down which service stores what and where. If you would rather use a Spanish provider, we deploy there instead and the delivery pipeline stays the same.

Sectors

Who we work with in Barcelona.

Technology and startups

Barcelona startups need something in front of users quickly and a codebase that survives the next round. We ship a working demo every week, keep the stack ordinary where ordinary is right, and hand over all code and accounts.

Tourism and hospitality

Hotels, tour operators and venues depend on booking flows that hold up on a phone with two bars of signal. We build quick multilingual sites and apps, connect them to your booking and payment systems, and measure where guests drop out.

Logistics and port

Freight and port operations run on schedules, documents and status updates. We build web apps that pull from the systems you already run, show dispatchers and customers a clear picture, and stay usable on a warehouse tablet.

Life sciences

Research groups and life science companies need careful handling of data and public pages that explain the science plainly. We build applications with tight access control and audit trails, then content a non-specialist can follow.

Process

Working with OlDevs from Barcelona.

  1. Discover

A video call in your late afternoon to go through goals, users and constraints. We review the existing site, data and systems, then write a short plan you approve before anything is built.

  2. Design

Wireframes and interface design arrive as clickable prototypes you can open in Barcelona whenever it suits. Comments land in one place and we walk through them together on the next call.

  3. Build

We build in weekly cycles with a working demo on a staging link every week. You test in Spanish, Catalan and English as features land, so surprises surface early rather than at the end.

  4. Launch

We deploy to your EU hosting, run accessibility and performance checks, set up analytics and search, then pick a launch window inside the shared hours so someone is awake on both sides while it goes out.

  5. Grow

After launch we watch real behaviour and keep going: search and content, paid search and social, email, analytics and CRO. Every account stays in your name from the first day.

FAQ

Barcelona — questions we hear first.

No. The studio is in Vancouver, British Columbia, and has been since 2014. Barcelona clients are served remotely: video calls in your time zone, a shared project space, and a working demo every week. When a project genuinely benefits from people in the room, for a kickoff workshop or a launch, we travel.

Barcelona is nine hours ahead of Vancouver, so the shared window is your late afternoon and our morning. We book scheduled calls there, usually once or twice a week, and run everything else in writing: demo links, recorded walkthroughs and a shared board. Every enquiry gets a reply within one business day.

In European Union regions, including Spanish ones, if that is what you need. We choose the region with you before build starts, keep databases, backups and logs together, and document which third party service touches which data so your privacy paperwork matches what the system actually does.

Yes. We build the content model for multiple locales from the start, so language switching, URLs, hreflang, forms, error messages and email templates are all translatable. We have bilingual EN and FR capability in house and work with your translators or a partner for Spanish and Catalan.

We build to WCAG 2.2 AA, the working standard behind the European Accessibility Act that has applied to many consumer digital services since June 2025. That means keyboard operation, visible focus, sensible contrast and proper labels. We are developers, not legal advisers, so your counsel confirms your obligations.

Send us an outline of what you want to build and we reply within one business day, usually with questions rather than a pitch. From there we set a discovery call in your late afternoon, agree scope in writing, and you request a quote. You own all code, designs, accounts and intellectual property.
