Built for North Holland

What Amsterdam projects need us to get right.

The local rules and realities we design for from the first call.

01

Built for GDPR from the first sprint

Amsterdam projects are scoped under the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the Dutch GDPR Implementation Act. We map what personal data a product collects, write consent and retention behaviour into the build, and keep a written record of it for whoever reviews privacy on your side.

02

WCAG 2.2 AA as the delivery standard

The European Accessibility Act has applied to many consumer digital services since June 2025, and WCAG 2.2 AA is the working standard. We test keyboard paths, colour contrast and screen reader output as we build rather than patching an audit at the end.

03

Dutch and English side by side

Dutch is the everyday language and English is very widely used in business, so most Amsterdam products need both. We build language switching into the content model, keep layouts flexible for longer Dutch compounds, and translate interface copy, not only pages.

Hosting inside the EU

For Netherlands work we default to European hosting regions and pick services that let you keep production data in the EU. Backups, logs and analytics get the same treatment, and the whole setup lives in accounts your organisation owns.

Sectors

Who we work with in Amsterdam.

Technology and European head offices

Companies running their European operation from Amsterdam need products that work across markets. We build multi-language web apps, internal tools and integrations that fit an existing stack instead of replacing it.

Financial services

Financial firms need careful handling of customer data, clear audit trails and interfaces that survive scrutiny. We design flows that stay readable under pressure and build the reporting and admin screens alongside the customer view.

Logistics and Schiphol

Freight, handling and travel operators around Schiphol run on schedules and status data. We build dashboards, tracking portals and mobile apps for staff in the field, wired to the systems that already hold the truth.

Creative industries

Studios and media organisations want a site that shows the work properly and a back end their editors can run. We build fast, accessible portfolios and publishing tools, with image and video handling that holds up on mobile.

Process

Working with OlDevs from Amsterdam.

  1. Discover

We start with video calls in your late afternoon to map goals, users and existing systems, then write a plan that names what ships first and what can wait.

  2. Design

Flows and interface designs arrive in Dutch and English, reviewed in shared files so your team can comment between calls instead of waiting for the next one.

  3. Build

Development runs in weekly cycles with a working demo you can click through every week, plus a staging link open to your Amsterdam team at any hour.

  4. Launch

We rehearse the release, check accessibility and analytics, hand over accounts and code, and stay on the call through your business day as traffic arrives.

  5. Grow

After launch we watch behaviour and search performance, run experiments, and plan the next round of work in a rhythm that suits your calendar.

FAQ

Amsterdam — questions we hear first.

No. OlDevs is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, and Amsterdam clients are served remotely with video calls scheduled in Central European Time. We travel to the Netherlands when a project genuinely benefits from being in the room, such as a kickoff workshop, user research or a launch. Everything else runs comfortably online.

Amsterdam is nine hours ahead of Vancouver, so the shared window sits in your late afternoon and our early morning. We book standing calls there, keep a written summary after each one, and leave demos and staging links available so your team can review during your own working day and comment before we come online.

We can host Netherlands projects in European regions and choose managed services that keep production data inside the EU. Databases, file storage, backups and logs are configured the same way, and analytics is set up to match. All hosting sits in accounts your organisation owns, so you can audit or move it without asking us first.

Yes. We build bilingual structure into the content model from the start, with language switching, translated interface copy and per language metadata rather than a bolted on translation layer. We also carry an English and French bilingual capability from Canadian work, which is the same discipline applied to a different pair of languages.

We build to WCAG 2.2 AA, the working standard that sits behind the European Accessibility Act. Keyboard navigation, contrast, focus states and screen reader labels are checked during each weekly cycle, and we hand over notes so your team can keep the standard after launch.

Send an outline of what you want built and we reply within one business day, usually with questions and a suggested call time in your late afternoon. From there we run a short discovery, write a plan with scope and sequence, and prepare a quote. Request a quote to get that moving.
