Effective date: September 6, 2026. This policy explains what personal information OlDevs (Online Developers) collects through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We are a technology studio based in Vancouver, British Columbia, and we handle personal information in accordance with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and, where they apply to our clients' projects, other Canadian and US privacy laws.
What we collect
- Enquiries and quote requests. Your name, email address, the service you are interested in, and anything you write in the message field. We collect this only when you submit a form or email us.
- Job applications. Your name, contact details, and the links or documents you choose to send us.
- Technical information. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) used to keep the site secure and working. We do not run advertising trackers on this site.
How we use it
We use enquiry details solely to reply to you, prepare a quote, and, if we work together, to deliver the engagement. We use application details to assess candidates. We use technical logs to protect the site and diagnose faults. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
Your information may be processed by the service providers that run our email, hosting and form handling. They act on our instructions and are bound by contract to protect it. Some providers store data in the United States; where a client project requires Canadian data residency, we design that project's systems accordingly.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for up to 24 months after our last contact so we can pick up a conversation where it left off, then deleted. Application materials are kept for up to 12 months unless you ask us to remove them sooner. Server logs are retained for 90 days.
Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you may withdraw consent to further contact at any time. Write to us at oldevs.com@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses only the cookies needed for it to function (for example, remembering that you dismissed a notice). If we add privacy-respecting analytics in future, this policy will be updated first and any non-essential cookies will require your consent.
Security
We protect personal information with encryption in transit, access controls, and the same secure development practices we apply to client work. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify affected individuals and regulators as required if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm.
