That usually means a current-state review of your systems, a short list of options with the trade-offs stated plainly, a roadmap ordered by risk and dependency, and a backlog your own team or ours can start from. Everything is written so non-technical directors can approve it.
No. OlDevs holds no reseller agreements, referral fees or partner status with the platforms we assess, and we say so in writing at the start of every selection engagement. Requirements come from your workflows, demonstrations are scored against those requirements, and the shortlist stays yours even if you run the purchase without us.
It is an independent review of a target company's technology before an investment or acquisition closes. We look at the codebase and its history, infrastructure and hosting, third-party licences, security and privacy practices, accessibility exposure, key-person dependencies and the realistic scope of the next two years of work.
Yes. We help public bodies and member associations write requirements and evaluation criteria that describe outcomes rather than a named product, prepare tender documentation, sit in on vendor demonstrations as a technical evaluator, and review submissions against a scoring matrix. We can advise only and stay out of the bid entirely.
A retainer gives you standing technical leadership without a full-time hire. Typical work includes chairing architecture decisions, reviewing vendor and agency output, setting security and WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards, sitting in on hiring, and translating between your leadership team and whoever writes the code. Cadence is agreed up front.
Yes. The studio is in Vancouver, British Columbia, and clients elsewhere in Canada and abroad are served remotely, with video calls scheduled in your time zone and on-site visits when the work calls for it. We work in English and French, so documentation can be produced bilingually where your audience or regulator requires it.
