Locations managed

The short answer

OlDevs is a Vancouver technology and marketing studio that manages Google Business Profile as ongoing work rather than a one-time setup. The profile is the listing behind how a business appears in Google Search, Google Maps and the local pack. Managing it properly means claiming and verifying each location, choosing accurate primary and secondary categories, publishing services, products, hours and attributes, adding photos and posts on a schedule, answering questions, replying to reviews, handling messaging, and keeping every field in step with the website. We also run bulk edits for multi-location organisations and work through suspensions and reinstatement. Clients own the profile, the account and the data. Work is quote-based, delivered remotely from Vancouver across Canada and the United States.

What we manage

Each item below is work someone is named for and you can inspect, not an activity line on a monthly report.

01

Claiming, verification and access

We claim unverified listings, complete video or postcard verification, and merge duplicates. Access is set up in your own Google account with us added as a manager, never the other way round.

Claim · Verification · Duplicate merge · Ownership transfer · Manager access

02

Categories, attributes and service areas

The primary category has the strongest influence on which searches a profile can appear for. We test the options against the local pack, add supporting categories, set attributes, and define service areas or the storefront address correctly.

Primary category · Secondary categories · Attributes · Service area · NAP accuracy

03

Services, products and booking links

We build out the services and products menus with descriptions written for search and for people, then wire booking, quote and call actions to the matching pages on your website.

Service listings · Product catalogue · Descriptions · Booking links · UTM tagging

04

Photos, posts and updates on a schedule

A publishing calendar for exterior, interior, team and work photos, plus offer, event and update posts. Files are named and sized properly, and you keep the originals in your own library.

Photo library · Post calendar · Offers · Events · Image naming · Alt text

05

Reviews, questions and messaging

A reply workflow with approved language, escalation rules and turnaround targets. We publish and monitor the questions section, answering from the business account, and set messaging on or off depending on who can actually answer it.

Review replies · Escalation rules · Questions and answers · Messaging · Response times

06

Bulk management, suspensions and reporting

Multi-location work runs through the bulk location manager with a controlled spreadsheet of record. We prepare reinstatement appeals when a profile is suspended, and report calls, direction requests and website clicks.

Bulk uploads · Location groups · Suspension appeals · Performance reports · GA4 · Looker Studio

Process

From audit to monthly run

  1. Audit

We pull every profile we can find under your name, record categories, hours, photos, reviews and duplicates, and compare each field against your website and internal records.

  2. Claim and clean

Ownership is claimed or transferred into your account, duplicates are merged or removed, and the core fields are corrected in one pass so the record stops contradicting itself.

  3. Build out

Categories, attributes, services, products, booking links and the first photo set go live. We agree the review reply language and the escalation path with whoever owns the customer relationship.

  4. Run the calendar

Posts, photos, seasonal hours and new services publish on an agreed schedule. Reviews and questions are handled inside the turnaround we committed to, and you see the work in a weekly demo.

  5. Report and adjust

Monthly reporting covers calls, direction requests, website clicks, searches by query type and review volume. We change categories, photos or post themes based on what those numbers show.

How we work

How we work

01

One accountable team

Design, engineering, AI and marketing sit in the same studio. The person who edits the profile can also change the landing page it points at, in the same week.

02

You own everything

The Google account, the profile, the photo originals, the reply templates and the reporting all sit with you. If you end the engagement, nothing has to be rebuilt.

03

Weekly demos

Every week you see what changed: posts published, reviews answered, fields corrected and any suspension activity. No monthly surprise, and no report that arrives after the fact.

04

Replies within one business day

Questions from your team get an answer within one business day. Review escalations and suspension notices are handled faster, because both have a clock running on them.

05

Bilingual English and French

Profile descriptions, service listings, posts and review replies can run in English and French, which matters for organisations serving Quebec and federally regulated audiences.

06

Profile and website stay in step

Hours, addresses, service names and phone numbers are maintained from one source. When the website changes, the profile changes, and the local schema on the site matches both.

Who it's for

Who this is for

Local visibility is an operations problem before it is a marketing one. These are the situations where that shows up.

Multi-location organisations and franchises

Dozens or hundreds of profiles, each with its own hours, manager and review stream. Bulk editing, location groups and a single source of truth stop the drift.

Businesses with a suspended or lost profile

A profile that has been suspended, hijacked or lost with a former agency. We document the case, submit the appeal and rebuild the listing data once access returns.

Government bodies and associations

Public-facing offices, branches and member services where accurate hours, accessibility attributes and bilingual information matter more than promotion. Records stay consistent across every location the public can visit.

Entrepreneurs and single-location trades

One profile that has to carry the phone calls. Categories, service listings, photos and a steady review flow do most of that work, and they need attention every month, not once.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask

You do, at every point. The profile lives in your own Google account and we are added as a manager, so removing us takes one click and changes nothing about the listing. Photo originals, post copy, review reply templates and the reporting file are yours as well. Ownership is set up this way on the first day, so there is no account to hand back and nothing to rebuild if the engagement ends.

Against actions, not rankings. The profile reports calls, direction requests, website clicks and how people found you, split by search terms and by Maps versus Search. We track those monthly per location, alongside review volume and average rating. Where the website is instrumented, we tie profile clicks through to enquiries in GA4 so you can see which locations actually produce work. Local results move around by device and postal code, so we treat position as context, not the score.

Sometimes, and we will tell you honestly how likely it looks before starting. Reinstatement depends on the reason for the suspension and on what evidence exists: signage, a lease or utility bill, business registration, and a real address that matches the category. We document the case, submit the appeal and respond to Google's follow-up questions. Repeat appeals with the same weak evidence usually fail, so the work goes into the evidence first.

We build the workflow, not the reviews. That means a request process your staff can run at the right moment, a short link or QR code, reply templates for the common cases, and an escalation route for anything that needs a manager or legal input. We do not buy, incentivise or filter reviews. Those tactics breach Google's policy and put the profile at risk, which is the opposite of what you engaged us to protect.

Through a controlled spreadsheet of record and the bulk location manager, not through 60 people editing 60 dashboards. Locations are grouped, fields are validated before upload, and changes go out in batches with a record of what changed and when. Local managers keep the ability to reply to reviews and messages where you want that. Everything structural, meaning categories, hours, addresses and service listings, stays centralised so the data does not drift.

Fixing wrong categories, hours or duplicates can change what the profile shows within days, because the data is corrected at source. Movement in the local pack is slower and depends on your category, how close competitors are, and how far the profile was from complete. We report from month one so you can see direction early, and we do not promise a position or a date.

Often the profile is the gap. Organic SEO and profile management use different data and different tools, and the profile is frequently left to whoever has the login. If your SEO supplier already runs categories, services, posts, reviews and bulk location data, keep them. If they do not, we can run this alongside them, share the reporting, and agree in writing who edits what so nothing gets overwritten.
