Discover
We map goals, users, devices and integrations, and agree exactly what version one must do.
Design
Wireframes become a clickable Material prototype your team can test before development starts.
Build
Weekly sprints deliver working builds to your own devices, with your feedback shaping the next sprint.
Test
Automated suites and real-device passes catch crashes, regressions and slow screens before your users can.
Launch
We handle Play Store submission and staged rollout, then monitor, maintain and improve the app in market.
How we work
New screens are written in Jetpack Compose with Kotlin coroutines, which keeps the codebase small, testable and ready for the next Android release.
We check layouts on phones, foldables and tablets from budget to flagship, because your users do not all carry the same handset.
Local storage with Room and background sync through WorkManager keep the app working on a weak signal and let it catch up when the connection returns.
Cold start, frame rendering and battery use are measured against agreed targets with each build, not investigated after complaints arrive.
Every merge runs lint, unit and UI tests and produces a signed build, so a release candidate is always one click away.
Encrypted storage, certificate pinning, secure auth flows and Play Integrity checks are part of the standard build, reviewed against OWASP MASVS.
Who it's for
Whether the audience is a customer, a member, a citizen, or your own team, the work has to hold up under real use.
Customer-facing and internal apps that connect to your existing systems, pass security review and roll out to thousands of devices without drama.
Member, citizen and field-service apps built to accessibility standards, with data kept in Canada where required and distribution through Google Play or managed devices.
One app, many locations: shared core features with per-location branding, offers and reporting, so head office and franchisees both see what matters.
A focused first release built on foundations that will not need rewriting when traction arrives, plus honest advice on what to leave out.

“For the first time one team owned the app, the site, and the pipeline. We stopped refereeing vendors and started shipping.”
Challenge
Twelve franchisee microsites, two unmaintained apps, inconsistent branding, and no shared lead pipeline.
Solution
One multi-location web platform, a rebuilt iOS and Android app on a shared API, and centralised performance marketing — launched in ten weeks.

“The pilot store's manager asked when the other locations were getting it, which told us more than any dashboard could.”
Challenge
Franchisees were paying third-party delivery commissions on orders that started as walk-ins, and the loyalty programme lived on paper stamp cards that could not be tracked or audited. The group had no single view of what was selling where, and menu changes had to be keyed into each location's till by hand.
Solution
We built native iOS and Android apps for ordering, pickup and loyalty, backed by a full-stack platform that holds the menu, pricing and promotions once and pushes them to every location. Orders route straight into each store's kitchen display through the point-of-sale vendor's API, and loyalty points accrue on any order, in-app or at the counter. A franchisee dashboard shows sales, redemptions and prep times by store and by hour. Working builds went to a pilot store from week six, and the rollout ran region by region so store managers could train on a real app rather than a slide deck.

“Our technicians stopped carrying paper, and the invoice goes out the same day the job closes instead of the following week.”
Challenge
Work orders went out on paper every morning and came back days later, often missing parts or signatures. Dispatch ran on phone calls, so nobody knew a job had gone long until the next customer rang to ask where the technician was. Half the sites were mechanical rooms and rural properties with no signal, which ruled out anything that needed a live connection.
Solution
OlDevs built an Android app in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose with a local Room database and WorkManager sync, so a technician can open a work order, capture photos, parts used and a customer signature, and have it upload whenever the phone finds a connection again. The back office is a web app on Node and PostgreSQL where dispatch schedules jobs, watches status change through the day and sends changes out to the field. Conflicts from two people editing the same job offline are resolved on the server rather than left to the technician.

FAQ
A focused first release typically takes 10 to 16 weeks from discovery to Google Play submission, depending on the number of screens, integrations and device requirements. We confirm a milestone schedule during discovery, before development begins.
You do. On final payment, full ownership of the source code, designs and intellectual property transfers to your organisation, and the app is published under your own Google Play developer account.
We build in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose, following Android's recommended architecture with coroutines, Room for local storage and WorkManager for background work. Apps target the current Android release and support Android 8.0 and newer unless your users require otherwise, and if you also need iOS, our iOS team builds a matching native app from the same design system.
Yes. Every project includes a warranty period after launch, and most clients continue with an ongoing maintenance plan that covers Android OS updates, Google Play policy changes, security patches, monitoring and small improvements.
We manage the Play Console listing, data-safety declarations, target-SDK requirements and staged rollouts, and we build to OWASP MASVS guidance with encrypted storage, secure authentication and Play Integrity checks. Apps for regulated sectors can be reviewed against PIPEDA and provincial privacy requirements.
We work in weekly sprints with a named project lead, a shared backlog and a working build delivered to your devices every sprint. Your product, IT and marketing people join planning and review sessions, and we can pair with in-house developers or hand over to them at the end.
Cost depends on scope: the number of screens, integrations, offline requirements and the level of testing your users need. Request a quote with a short description of the app and we will reply within one business day with a scoped estimate.
