Performance Marketing · 20 Thought Leadership

Expertise your team already has, published where buyers look

We interview the people in your organisation who actually know the subject, then turn what they say into articles, talks, research and a LinkedIn presence in their own voice. It publishes on your domain, where search engines and AI assistants can cite it.

Thought Leadership, in short

OlDevs builds executive and organisational thought leadership for corporations, associations, government bodies, franchises and entrepreneurs across Canada and the United States. The service turns what your experts already know into published work: a defined point of view, ghostwritten articles and opinion pieces, conference abstracts and speaker programmes, an executive presence on LinkedIn, industry research and survey reports, and webinars or podcasts. Everything is drawn from structured interviews with named people inside your organisation rather than generated from nothing, so every claim can be defended and the voice is genuinely theirs. Published in English or French on your own domain, the same material is written to be found in organic search and to give AI assistants something specific to cite. Thought leadership is one discipline in the OlDevs Performance Marketing system.

20 · Thought Leadership

Publish the argument only your own people can make.

What we deliver in Thought Leadership

01

Positioning and point of view

We work out what your organisation can say that competitors cannot, then write it down as a defensible position with the arguments, evidence and boundaries that every later piece is built on.

Point of view · Messaging · Narrative · Proof points · Editorial standards

02

Ghostwritten articles and opinion pieces

Long-form articles, opinion pieces and bylines drafted from recorded interviews with your expert, edited to house standard, and signed off by them before anything is published under their name.

Bylines · Op-eds · Long-form articles · Interviews · Editing · Sign-off

03

Conference abstracts and speaker programmes

We build a calendar of conferences and industry events worth targeting, write the abstracts and speaker biographies, track submission deadlines, and prepare the talk, slides and speaker notes once a session is accepted.

Event calendar · Abstracts · Speaker bios · Slide decks · Talk tracks

04

Executive presence on LinkedIn

A steady LinkedIn programme for named executives: posts and comment replies drafted in their voice, a profile that reads like a practitioner rather than a brochure, and a publishing rhythm they can sustain.

LinkedIn · Profile rewrites · Post drafting · Comment strategy · Cadence

05

Industry research and survey reports

Primary research in your sector rather than a summary of someone else's: survey design, fieldwork, analysis and a written report with charts, method notes and a summary page built to be quoted and linked.

Survey design · Fieldwork · Data analysis · Report writing · Charts · Method notes

06

Webinars and podcasts

Run as a programme rather than one-offs: topics, guests, run sheets, host preparation, recording and production, then the articles, clips and transcripts each episode produces afterwards.

Webinars · Podcasts · Run sheets · Guest booking · Production · Transcripts

Process

The Thought Leadership loop

  1. Interview

We record structured interviews with the people who hold the knowledge, usually an hour at a time, and build a working library of arguments, examples and objections from what they say.

  2. Position

From that library we agree one point of view, the claims we can defend, the ground we will not cover, and the audiences and channels each argument is aimed at.

  3. Draft

We write the articles, abstracts, posts and reports, then take one editing pass with the expert. Nothing carries a person's name until that person has read it and approved it.

  4. Place

Work goes out on a schedule: your own site first so the search value stays with you, then LinkedIn, event submissions, trade titles and the webinar or podcast calendar.

  5. Measure

Each month we review rankings and AI citations for the topics you claimed, speaking invitations and media enquiries received, LinkedIn reach, and the pipeline that names this content.

How we work

How we work in Thought Leadership

01

We start with the expert, not a blank page

Every programme begins with recorded interviews. If nobody in the organisation holds a real opinion on the subject, we say so at the start rather than manufacturing one.

02

One argument, made properly

A single defensible position published consistently does more than a dozen topics covered lightly, so we cap the subject list and go deep on what your people actually practise.

03

The named person signs off

Nothing is published under someone's name until they have read it. That rule slows the calendar occasionally, and it is the only thing that makes a byline mean anything.

04

AI is a tool here, not an author

Transcription, research triage and first-pass structure use AI. The argument, the examples and the judgement come from your expert, and a person edits every line before it ships.

05

Publish on your own site first

Articles live on your domain with schema and clean structure, then get adapted for LinkedIn, trade titles and event submissions. The asset, and any search or citation value it earns, stays with you.

06

Written to be quoted

Clear claims, named sources, dates and figures your team can stand behind, so an editor, a peer or a language model can trace any line back to where it came from.

Who it's for

Thought Leadership for organisations whose expertise is the product.

The work has to hold up in front of people who already know the subject, whether they are customers, members, regulators or peers on a conference panel.

Corporations

Subject-matter depth spread across divisions and no time to write it down. We interview the specialists, hold one editorial standard, and clear legal and communications review before anything is published.

Associations and government

Bodies expected to be the authoritative voice in their sector. Research reports, member briefings and conference programmes, produced in English and French where the mandate requires it.

Franchises

Head-office expertise that has to travel. We build the point of view centrally, then supply franchisees with talks, articles and posts they can use locally without going off-message.

Entrepreneurs and founders

Founders whose credibility is the fastest asset they have. We turn a founder's operating experience into a public position, a speaking record and a LinkedIn presence buyers can check.

FAQ

Thought Leadership — questions we hear first.

About an hour a month each, in most programmes. We record structured interviews, and one conversation usually yields an article, several LinkedIn posts and material for a talk. Beyond that, the expert reads and approves drafts, which takes minutes rather than hours. We schedule interviews in blocks, send the questions in advance, and never ask an executive to face a blank page.

Ghostwriting, from interviews. The argument, the examples and the judgement come from your expert; we do the structuring, drafting and editing. AI is used for transcription and research triage, never as the author, and a person edits every line. Anything a model could have written without your expert is not worth publishing, because it says nothing your competitors could not also claim.

We can prepare and submit; we cannot guarantee that an editor or a programme committee will say yes, and you should be wary of anyone who does. What we control is quality and volume: a tracked calendar of relevant events and titles, abstracts and pitches written to their stated criteria, deadlines met, and a steady rate of submissions. Journalist relationships and coverage tracking sit in our media relations work.

It gives both something specific to index and cite. Search engines and AI assistants can only quote material that exists, and a piece carrying a named author, a dated claim and first-hand detail is easier to attribute than a general blog post. We cannot promise you a ranking or a citation. What we control is that every piece publishes on your domain with schema and author markup, and that we report where you are cited.

You do, all of it. Copy, decks, abstracts, transcripts and survey data are yours on delivery, in editable formats, with copyright sitting with your organisation. LinkedIn profiles belong to the individuals who hold them; we draft into a shared document and post only through access they grant and can revoke. If an executive leaves, the position, the interview library and the published work stay with you.

With leading and lagging indicators, reported monthly. Leading: pieces published, submissions made, acceptances, speaking invitations, inbound media enquiries, LinkedIn reach and profile views for the named executives. Lagging: organic rankings and AI citations for the topics you claimed, and opportunities in your CRM where a prospect names an article, a talk or a report. We agree which of these matter before the first interview.

It depends on how many experts are involved, how much is published each month, and whether primary research or a webinar series is in scope, so we do not publish a rate card. We run a scoping call, look at what you already have, and send a written proposal with named deliverables, a publishing schedule and no long lock-in.
