Built for Oregon

What Portland projects need us to get right.

The local rules and realities we design for from the first call.

01

Oregon Consumer Privacy Act

The Oregon Consumer Privacy Act, in force since July 2024, gives Oregon residents rights over their personal data and puts duties on the businesses that collect it. We build consent capture, access and deletion requests and opt-out handling into the product so requests are honoured with ease.

02

ADA and WCAG 2.2 AA

ADA Title III exposes public-facing Portland sites to litigation, and the 2024 Title II rule requires Oregon state and local government content to meet WCAG 2.1 AA by April 2026 or April 2027 depending on population. Section 508 applies to federal work. Our standard is WCAG 2.2 AA.

03

English first, other languages ready

Portland projects generally run in English, and we write and test in it by default. If your product reaches customers beyond Oregon, or your head office sells in Canada, we can add French or other languages through the same content structure, with bilingual EN/FR handled in house.

US hosting in the Oregon region

We host Portland clients on US cloud regions, usually AWS us-west-2 in Oregon itself, or the equivalent Azure and Google Cloud regions on the West Coast, so data stays in the country and round trips to your users are short. Your organisation holds the cloud account and we build inside it.

Sectors

Who we work with in Portland.

Apparel and footwear head offices

Brand head offices need e-commerce that handles drops and peak traffic, product-configuration tools, and paid search, shopping and social campaigns that convert. We build storefronts and merchandising apps, then run analytics and CRO against real orders.

Semiconductors

Chip companies and their suppliers ask for engineering portals, secure partner extranets and machine learning on yield and test data. We build with strict access control and the pipelines that feed models, with NDAs and IP assignment settled up front.

Software

Software firms bring us overflow product work: a mobile companion app for an existing platform, an AI feature such as document summarisation or a support assistant, or a marketing site that matches the product. We plug into your stack and ship on your cadence.

Clean tech

Energy, water and recycling companies need monitoring dashboards, customer portals and predictive models built on sensor and utility data. We design for operators and customers, connect to the devices you already run, and keep the data model open.

Process

Working with OlDevs from Portland.

  1. Discover

Kickoff runs by video at any hour of your Portland day, since we share Pacific Time. We map users, goals, integrations and constraints, then send a written scope before design begins.

  2. Design

We share wireframes and clickable prototypes in weekly reviews, adjust after each round and, where useful, test the flows with your Portland customers before a line of code is written.

  3. Build

You see a working demo every week and have staging access the whole way through. One accountable team covers web, iOS, Android, AI and integrations, so nothing waits on a handoff.

  4. Launch

Go-live happens inside a normal workday with both teams online. We hand over the repository, documentation and every account, and you own all code, designs and IP from that moment.

  5. Grow

After launch we run analytics, CRO, SEO and paid campaigns as needed and keep shipping improvements. Portland is close enough that we come down for workshops and launches when it helps.

FAQ

Portland — questions we hear first.

No. Our studio is in Vancouver, British Columbia, and we work with Portland clients remotely, with on-site visits when a workshop, launch or user session benefits from being face to face. Because the two cities are a short trip apart, visits are easy to arrange when a project calls for them.

Yes, and with no adjustment at all. Portland and Vancouver both keep Pacific Time, so your 9:00 to 17:30 is exactly ours. Calls, demos and support fit anywhere in your day, and we reply to every enquiry within one business day.

We build to the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act, in force since July 2024, which sets out rights for Oregon residents over their personal data and duties for businesses that process it. Consent, access, correction, deletion and opt-out flows are designed into the product, and we confirm the specifics with your counsel during discovery.

Yes. Portland projects are deployed to US regions on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, most often the Oregon AWS region, under an account your organisation owns. Data stays in the United States and you keep control of billing, access and backups.

E-commerce and web app development for apparel and footwear brands, AI features and data pipelines for semiconductor and clean tech companies, mobile apps for software firms extending an existing platform, and performance marketing across paid search, shopping and social.

Use the Request a quote form and describe the problem or product. We reply within one business day, book a video call at a time that suits you, and follow up with a written scope and quote. If an in-person session would help, we can arrange one in Portland.
