Omaha, in short

Yes, we do: OlDevs is based in Vancouver and works with Omaha organisations remotely, adding travel to Nebraska when a project needs people in the room.Omaha runs on Central Time, two hours ahead of us, which leaves a wide shared window for calls, reviews and weekly demos. Our services cover web development, web apps, Android and iOS apps, full-stack engineering, AI development and performance marketing.

Built for Nebraska

What Omaha projects need us to get right.

The local rules and realities we design for from the first call.

01

Federal privacy rules, sector by sector

Nebraska has no comprehensive state consumer-privacy statute as of our last review, so what governs your data is federal and depends on your sector: HIPAA, GLBA, COPPA, CAN-SPAM and the FTC Act. For Omaha finance and health clients we design retention, consent and audit logging around those duties.

02

Accessibility that survives an audit

Our baseline is WCAG 2.2 AA, checked with a keyboard and a screen reader before anything ships. Public-facing sites carry ADA Title III litigation risk, the 2024 ADA Title II rule sets WCAG 2.1 AA for state and local government content with deadlines falling in April 2026 for populations of 50,000 or more and April 2027 for everyone else, and Section 508 applies to any federal work you take on.

03

Plain English, carefully structured

Omaha works in English, so the language question here is clarity rather than translation. We write interface copy in plain English, keep reading levels sensible in claims, payments and patient flows, and structure content so screen readers and AI assistants can follow it.

Where Omaha data is stored

We host Omaha projects in United States regions by default and keep an inventory of where data sits: application database, backups, log storage, analytics and any model provider used for AI features. Accounts are opened in your name, so nothing is locked to us.

Sectors

Who we work with in Omaha.

Financial services and payments processing

Payments and banking teams need software that is auditable, resilient and boring in the right ways. We build web apps with strong access control, encryption in transit and at rest, logging, and integrations with the processors and core systems you run.

Insurance

Carriers, brokers and adjusters spend the day in quoting, claims and document handling. We build portals and mobile apps that shorten those flows, plus document capture, e-signature integrations and reporting that finance and compliance both accept.

Transportation and rail

Fleet, rail and freight operators need schedules, maintenance and safety data in one place. We build dashboards and field apps that work on patchy connections, integrate with telematics, and surface exceptions instead of burying them in a monthly report.

Health care

Providers and health services organisations carry HIPAA duties on every screen. We build patient-facing and staff-facing tools with consent, access control and audit trails, and keep protected health information out of analytics and third-party scripts.

Process

Working with OlDevs from Omaha.

  1. Discover

We start with a call in your time zone and a written scope: the outcome you need, the users, the systems involved, and the constraints your compliance team will raise later anyway.

  2. Design

Clickable designs rather than slide decks. We settle navigation, content and accessibility, and we agree what happens on the awkward screens: errors, empty states and edge cases.

  3. Build

Short cycles, a working demo every week on a link your Omaha stakeholders can open. Anything that surprises you gets raised in the same week, not at handover.

  4. Launch

Deployment to your own United States hosting accounts, a final accessibility and performance pass, monitoring and analytics wired up, and a handover session recorded for whoever joins later.

  5. Grow

Then we keep going: search and content, paid media, email lifecycle, analytics and CRO, and a development backlog that stays open so improvements ship steadily.

FAQ

Omaha — questions we hear first.

No, there is not. OlDevs is a Vancouver studio, founded in 2014, and Omaha clients work with us remotely: video calls in Central Time, a shared board, and a working demo every week. When a discovery workshop, a stakeholder session or a launch is better done face to face, we travel to Nebraska.

Central Time runs two hours ahead of Vancouver, which leaves most of your day overlapping ours. Written updates go up before we sign off, so they are there when Omaha starts, calls stay inside the shared window, and we answer every enquiry within one business day. Weekly demos are booked at a time that suits your stakeholders.

We build with least-privilege access, encryption in transit and at rest, audit logging, dependency scanning and separated environments, and we complete vendor security questionnaires as part of the engagement. GLBA and HIPAA duties apply by sector, so we design to the requirements your compliance team specifies and let them sign off.

In United States regions by default, on accounts opened in your organisation's name. We keep a written record of the database, backups, logs, analytics and any AI provider that touches your data, and we tell you before anything would move outside that footprint.

Both, depending on what the app has to do. Field and driver apps that lean on hardware, background location or offline storage usually justify native Android and iOS work. Content-led or forms-led apps often do fine cross-platform. We make that call with you during discovery and explain the trade-offs plainly.

You keep everything. Clients own all code, designs, accounts and IP from the start, hosting and analytics accounts are registered to your organisation, and repositories sit under your control. If you move to another team we hand over documentation and access without argument.
