Built for Alberta

What Lethbridge projects need us to get right.

The local rules and realities we design for from the first call.

01

Built for Alberta PIPA

Personal information collected through your site or app is normally covered by Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act, with PIPEDA applying to federally regulated organisations. Which one binds you is your counsel's call, not ours. We map every form field, consent point and data flow so your team can show what is collected and why.

02

WCAG 2.2 AA by default

Alberta has no provincial web-accessibility statute, and the Accessible Canada Act reaches federally regulated bodies. We build every page to WCAG 2.2 AA anyway: keyboard paths, colour contrast, focus states and screen reader labels, all tested before launch.

03

Written for an English-speaking market

Lethbridge audiences read in English, so we write plain English copy and keep interface vocabulary consistent from navigation through to error messages. Our bilingual EN/FR capability is there if you later serve French-speaking customers elsewhere.

Hosting and records kept in Canada

For organisations that prefer records to stay in the country, we can host in Canadian regions and document where backups, logs and third party services keep your data. You own the accounts, so the hosting decision stays yours to revisit.

Sectors

Who we work with in Lethbridge.

Agriculture and irrigation

Growers and irrigation districts need field data, scheduling and equipment records in one place rather than scattered across spreadsheets. We build web apps and mobile tools that work on patchy rural connections and sync once signal returns.

Food processing

Processors run on traceability, shift reporting and customer orders. We connect plant floor data to the systems your buyers and auditors ask about, then put a clear interface on top for the people entering it every day.

Education and research

Colleges, schools and research groups need accessible sites, portals and data tools that many audiences can use. We build to WCAG 2.2 AA and keep content editing simple for staff who are not developers and never wanted to be.

Health care

Clinics and health organisations want booking, intake and patient facing information that is careful with personal data. We design the flows, restrict what gets stored and document handling so your privacy lead can review it.

Process

Working with OlDevs from Lethbridge.

  1. Discover

A video call in Mountain Time to map your goals, users and constraints. We review existing systems and analytics, then write down the scope and the risks before anyone designs a screen.

  2. Design

Wireframes and interface design shared in the browser, so you click through the real thing. Accessibility, content and mobile behaviour are decided here, not patched on after launch.

  3. Build

One accountable team builds in short cycles with a working demo every week. You see progress in a live environment and can redirect the work while it is still cheap to change.

  4. Launch

We test on real devices, check WCAG 2.2 AA, migrate content and go live on infrastructure you own. Your team gets a walkthrough recording and written handover notes.

  5. Grow

After launch we watch performance, search visibility and user behaviour, then plan the next round of work. Marketing, AI features and new modules run on the same weekly rhythm.

FAQ

Lethbridge — questions we hear first.

No. Our studio is in Vancouver, British Columbia, and we have worked this way since 2014. Lethbridge clients are served remotely with video calls scheduled in Mountain Time, shared boards and a working demo every week. When a project genuinely benefits from being in the room, for a workshop, a site survey or a launch, we travel.

It barely registers. Lethbridge is one hour ahead of Vancouver, so your morning is our early morning and your afternoon is our midday. We book calls in your time zone, answer every enquiry within one business day, and keep written updates in the project channel so nobody waits on a meeting for an answer.

Yes, in most cases. We can host applications and databases in Canadian regions and document where logs, backups and any third party services hold information. Because you own the hosting accounts and the code, you can also move the whole stack later without asking our permission.

Web development and web app development lead, usually followed by full-stack work to tie a new interface to existing systems. Android and iOS apps come up for field and floor teams, AI development for automation and forecasting, and performance marketing once the site is ready to earn traffic.

We build to WCAG 2.2 AA as standard. Alberta has no provincial web-accessibility statute, and the Accessible Canada Act applies to federally regulated bodies, so many Lethbridge organisations adopt the standard voluntarily. We test keyboard navigation, contrast and screen reader output before launch and note anything outstanding.

You do, completely. Clients own all code, designs, accounts and intellectual property from the first commit, not on final payment. Repositories, hosting, analytics and ad accounts are created in your name where possible, and we hand over credentials and documentation at launch so another team could pick the work up.
