Guelph, in short

Yes. OlDevs works with Guelph organisations remotely from our Vancouver studio, travelling to Ontario when a workshop or a launch is better done in person.Guelph keeps Eastern Time, three hours ahead of Vancouver, so your afternoon is our morning and we book calls in that window. We deliver web development, web apps, Android and iOS apps, full-stack builds, AI development and performance marketing.

Built for Ontario

What Guelph projects need us to get right.

The local rules and realities we design for from the first call.

01

Privacy written into the data model

Guelph organisations answer to PIPEDA in the private sector, to FIPPA and MFIPPA as public bodies, and to PHIPA wherever health information is involved. We map what every form and integration collects, keep the fields to a minimum, and build consent and retention behaviour into the product.

PIPEDA · FIPPA and MFIPPA · PHIPA

02

AODA conformance, not a retrofit

AODA requires public-sector bodies and private organisations with 50 or more employees to bring public websites and web content to WCAG 2.0 AA. We build to WCAG 2.2 AA from the first component, so keyboard paths, contrast and focus states are tested during the build rather than patched after launch.

AODA · WCAG 2.2 AA

03

English content that stays readable

Guelph works in English, so we write interface copy, error messages and help text in plain language and keep the reading level sensible for staff and public visitors alike. If French is ever added, our bilingual EN/FR capability means the content model is already shaped for a second language.

English · Plain language · Bilingual ready

04

Canadian hosting and data residency

When your policy or your board asks for records to stay in Canada, we host in Canadian regions and document where the database, file storage, backups and logs actually live. You own the hosting accounts, so a residency decision stays yours to revisit.

Sectors

Who we work with in Guelph.

Agri-food and agri-tech

Growers, processors and agri-tech firms usually need field records, traceability and orders in one place instead of scattered spreadsheets. We build web and mobile tools that keep working in patchy rural coverage and sync once a connection returns.

Advanced manufacturing

Manufacturers ask for production visibility, quoting and customer portals that match how the shop floor really runs. We start with the messy actual process, then build the smallest system that removes the double entry and the chased emails.

Education and research

Institutions and research groups need portals, participant tools and data collection that respect ethics approvals. We build to WCAG 2.2 AA and document every data flow so reviews and audits do not stall the project.

Environmental technology

Environmental technology companies track sensors, samples and compliance reporting. We connect instrument data to dashboards and scheduled reports, and reach for machine learning only where a clear rule set genuinely will not do the job.

Process

Working with OlDevs from Guelph.

  1. Discover

We meet over video in Eastern Time, review your current site, data and systems, and agree what the first release has to do for Guelph users before anyone opens a design tool.

  2. Design

You review interface work in a browser rather than in static slides. Contrast, keyboard paths and small-screen layouts get tested early, while changes are still quick to make.

  3. Build

One accountable team writes the code and shows you a working demo every week. You try it on your own devices and redirect us long before a wrong assumption hardens.

  4. Launch

We rehearse the release, migrate content and data, verify analytics and accessibility, and schedule go live inside your Eastern Time day so your people are around for any decisions.

  5. Grow

After launch we watch what real Guelph visitors do, tune performance and content, and run SEO, paid search, paid social, email and CRO work where the evidence supports it.

FAQ

Guelph — questions we hear first.

No. Our studio is in Vancouver, British Columbia, and it has been since 2014. Guelph clients get video calls scheduled in Eastern Time, a working demo every week, and one accountable team instead of a rotating cast. We travel to Ontario when a workshop, a site visit or a launch is genuinely better with people in the room.

Eastern Time is the default for anything scheduled. Your midday to late afternoon lines up with our morning, so recurring calls sit in that window, and we start early in Vancouver when you need your whole morning covered. Written questions, demo notes and enquiries get a reply within one business day.

Yes. Where residency matters, we deploy to Canadian regions and write down where the database, uploaded files, backups and logs are stored, plus any third-party service that touches personal information. The hosting accounts are registered to you, so you can audit or move the infrastructure at any point.

We build every project to WCAG 2.2 AA, which goes beyond the WCAG 2.0 AA level AODA sets for public-sector bodies and private organisations with 50 or more employees. Accessibility is checked through the build with keyboard testing, contrast checks and screen reader passes. We build to the standard and do not offer legal advice on your obligations.

Seven: web app development, Android app development, iOS app development, web development, full-stack development, AI development, and performance marketing. Marketing covers SEO and content, paid search and shopping, paid social, email and lifecycle, analytics and CRO, and creative and media. AI work ranges from custom ML to generative AI, natural language, computer vision, automation and agents.

You do. Clients own all code, designs, accounts and intellectual property, including the repository, hosting, analytics and ad accounts. Nothing is held back to keep you on a retainer. If you later move the work in house or to another studio, the handover is a transfer of access rather than a rebuild.
