Software and Marketing Built for Charleston

OlDevs has been building software since 2014. We work with Charleston port, aerospace, hospitality and health care organisations over video, in Eastern Time, and travel to the Lowcountry when a build genuinely benefits from it.

Charleston, in short

Yes, OlDevs takes on Charleston projects, run remotely from the Vancouver studio with travel to South Carolina when time on site would help the work.Charleston keeps Eastern Time, three hours ahead of Vancouver, so your afternoon is our morning and that shared window carries the meetings. The services on offer are web apps, Android and iOS apps, web development, full-stack engineering, AI development and performance marketing.

Built for South Carolina

What Charleston projects need us to get right.

The local rules and realities we design for from the first call.

01

Federal sector rules in place of a state statute

South Carolina has no comprehensive consumer-privacy statute as of our last review, which is why we design around the federal, sector-specific obligations: HIPAA, COPPA, GLBA, CAN-SPAM and the FTC Act. We keep collection narrow, label every field for a reason, and write retention rules into the build itself.

02

ADA risk on public-facing pages

American public-facing sites carry ADA Title III litigation risk, and the 2024 ADA Title II rule sets WCAG 2.1 AA for state and local government content on an April 2026 and April 2027 timetable by population. Charleston work ships tested against WCAG 2.2 AA.

03

English content that reads clearly

Charleston works in English, so the language problem is clarity rather than translation: shorter sentences, honest labels and pages a tired visitor can act on from a phone in a parking lot. If a client later needs French, that capability sits in house.

04

United States hosting by default

Charleston clients usually want infrastructure in a United States region so pages load quickly along the coast and records stay near the business. We choose the region in discovery, note where backups and logs live, and put every service account in your name.

Sectors

Who we work with in Charleston.

Port and logistics

Freight, warehousing and drayage operators need booking, tracking and document handling that survive a bad day at the terminal. We build tools that work on a phone in the yard and connect to the systems dispatch already trusts.

Aerospace manufacturing

Aerospace suppliers carry heavy documentation and audit obligations. We build web applications that keep drawings, revisions and approvals in order, with permissions that match how a plant is actually staffed and shifts actually run.

Tourism and hospitality

Hotels, tours and venues live or die on booking flow and page speed during a search on the road. We build fast, accessible sites, then run paid search, paid social and lifecycle email against the seasons that matter to Charleston.

Health care

Practices and health services need intake, scheduling and reminders that keep protected information where HIPAA expects it. We separate marketing analytics from patient data and design every step so an anxious person can finish it.

Process

Working with OlDevs from Charleston.

  1. Discover

We start on a call inside your Eastern Time afternoon, walk through the goal, the users and the existing systems, and hand back a written scope you can circulate internally.

  2. Design

Layouts, flows and the data model get drawn early and shared as clickable work, so Charleston stakeholders can react to something real instead of approving a description.

  3. Build

Engineering runs weekly. Every Friday there is a demo link and a short note on what moved, what is next and what we need from your side to keep the pace.

  4. Launch

Release day is planned, not improvised: United States hosting in your name, monitoring switched on, analytics verified, and a rollback ready if the first hours surprise us.

  5. Grow

We keep measuring after launch, fix what real Charleston traffic exposes, and take on SEO, paid media, email and conversion work when you want the marketing handled too.

FAQ

Charleston — questions we hear first.

There is not. The studio is in Vancouver, British Columbia, and Charleston clients are served remotely, which is how we have run projects since 2014. You get calls in Eastern Time, notes in writing and a demo every week. If a workshop or a launch is better done in person, we fly out for it.

Charleston is three hours ahead of Vancouver, so your afternoon and our morning overlap for about five hours every working day. We book stand-ups, reviews and demos inside that window, keep the rest asynchronous with written updates, and answer every enquiry within one business day.

Accessibility is part of the build rather than a later audit. We work to WCAG 2.2 AA, one step beyond the WCAG 2.1 AA level that the 2024 ADA Title II rule applies to state and local government web content, and we check with a keyboard and a screen reader before release. Legal conclusions belong to your counsel, not to us.

In whichever United States region suits your users and your internal rules. We settle it in discovery, then document the location of the database, media storage, backups and logs so nobody has to guess a year from now. Hosting, domain and analytics accounts are all registered to your organisation.

Yes. Charleston demand moves with shipping schedules, conferences and the visitor calendar, so we plan content, paid media and infrastructure around those peaks. That includes load testing before a busy season and pausing spend when a campaign has nothing useful to sell.

You do. Clients own all code, designs, accounts and intellectual property from a Charleston engagement, and we hand over repositories, hosting and analytics access at the end. There is no licence to renew and no lock-in that forces you back to us for a change you could make elsewhere.
